Jason Snyder and Briana Feola are the collaborative minds behind NJ based Brainstorm Print and Design. We’ll let them introduce themselves:

“We are passionate screen printers and designers who want to make Art that infuses positivity into society. We want to blur the line between Art and Design. We don’t like being profiled as just graphic designers, or just illustrators, or just whatever-you-call-thems. We are simply creative people who want to unleash our bitchin’ skills on whatever project comes our way.
Our best work has always been born from collaboration. We bounce ideas back and forth. We argue. We get enlightened. We eat some food and drink green tea. We listen to music and get lost on the internet. We draw. A lot. Eventually we hit on something both of us really love. And that is how Brainstorm works for us, and we work for it.
Brainstorm strives for energy independence and environmental consciousness. We use water and soy based inks. We print on paper that is made using 100% clean, renewable, hydroelectric power. Our studio is lit with compact fluorescents. Our emulsion and removers are biodegradable and non-toxic. We reuse ink containers and use rags instead of paper towels. We do as best we can to stay in-sync with mother nature because you should not piss her off. She’s mad enough. In our studio, we are living our passion and hoping to inspire others to do the same. Otherwise, what the hell are we doing here?”

You can see more of their work, purchase prints and inquire about their services here.

Nick D’Angelo is a lifelong Hamilton resident, currently living in Lawrence and working as an advertising editor in New York City. Nick has been making art his entire life but began seriously painting in 2007. Nick’s experiments with painted photographs, collages and solvent transfers led to the creation of a large body of work for a solo show at Triumph Brewing Co. in Princeton, NJ in the Spring of 2008. Nick is currently working on new pieces, focusing on delicate images with noise scrawled all over them and reproducing mechanical effects (like a silk screen) manually. Nick works on large canvases, exclusively in acrylic paint, but mixes in all kinds of materials (crayon, sharpie, highlighter, etc) as well. Nick counts among his influences, Francois-Marie Banier, Robert Rauschenberg, Andy Warhol and Anselm Kiefer.Â

“I don’t really know what’s beyond the surface of the paintings, but I guess everything that I think about or experience is hopefully recorded on the canvas. I’m learning that making art involves more work than inspiration (thank you, Chuck Close) and that art is not a monument, but a record of a passing moment (thank you, Robert Rauschenberg).” -Nick D’AngeloÂ
